Rotary Anns’ looking for beautiful gardens

Rotary Anns are looking for the city’s most magnificent gardens

Following a two-year absence from the local event calendar, the 22nd Benoni Van Ryn Rotary Anns’ beautiful gardens of Benoni are back and the club is on the hunt for seven exquisite gardens to feature on the annual tour next year.

The beautiful gardens event has been one of the organisation’s crowning fundraisers and the upcoming event will take place on the last weekend of January.

The event is not a competition. However, seven gardens are selected from submitted entries to be featured on the route that invites members of the public to visit the gardens during open hours while enjoying some scrumptious treats and refreshments at the pre-selected tea garden.

“We are looking for entries that offer unique or special features,” said Rhoda Toker, Benoni Van Ryn Rotary Anns’ president.

“Gardens may be small or large, old or new, it does not matter. We want to showcase some of the blooming marvellous gardens our city has to offer.”

To volunteer your garden, contact Carol Middleton on 082 431 6987 or Gill Davey on 084 237 7098.

Featured gardens will be announced in October.
