Crystal Park SAPS celebrated Youth Month with the community

The police initiated these campaigns to celebrate Youth month

Crystal Park SAPS recently held a crime awareness campaign in various areas around their policing vicinity and had good fun with the community.

The exercise formed part of the initiative and saw social crime prevention members, sector commanders, victim-friendly room, the chief superintendent of police, patrollers and community members take part in an aerobics session at the Crystal Park tennis court.

Also at the tennis court, a prayer session was conducted for young people struggling with drugs and mental health problems due to unemployment.

Crystal Park ward Clr Nicola da Silva was at the prayer session and encouraged the youth to stay away from drugs.

Standard Bank, Toyota and Shoprite were the main sponsors for the Sports against Crime soccer tournament for U17s.

During the campaign, police officers also used the opportunity to speak to community members about the social ills that affect the community.

Pamphlets about substance abuse and GBV were handed out, while the Islam Church handed food parcels and blankets to the elderly.
