
The acting provincial head of Rapid Response Services in Gauteng, Colonel Egbert Van Zyl, bestowed ranks on 12 promoted officers under his command on November 9.
During a ceremony, held at the provincial co-ordinator’s office in Benoni, Benny Seshabela was promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer at Tshwane Flying Squad.
Members promoted to the rank of captain are:
• Christo Prinsloo (Bronkhorstspruit K9)
• Isiah Fani Mazibuko (Shoshanguve K9)
• Lesetja Mahlong (Boksburg Mounted Unit)
• Kileen Samuel (Boipatong SAPS)
Rank of lieutenant colonel was awarded to:
• Peter Botha (Pretoria RRS head office)
• Bafedile Walaza (Tshwane Flying Squad)
• Deoun Moodley (Sandton SAPS)
• Zakes Ndlovu (Soweto K9)
• Roland Booysen (Benoni provincial co-ordinators RRS)
• Musa Vukeya (Midrand 10111 centre)
• Georgina Magoro (Midrand 10111 centre).
Nasheem Singh was bestowed his rank of colonel (Benoni provincial co-ordinator RRS).
“New ranks come with more management responsibilities in the service,” said Van Zyl.
“Ranks are earned by the grace of God and you will each play a vital role in the management structure of RRS. Discipline throughout our units are integral to maintain a high standard of service.”
