Family rescued from burning house
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined
A man and four children sustained injuries after their home caught fire in Actonville on November 21.
According to Ineke van Huyssteen of ER24, paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 21:00 and found the patients outside the house.
“The fire had been almost extinguished by neighbours using hosepipes. It is understood that bystanders managed to rescue the patients from the blaze,” she said.
Assessments carried out by medical personnel found that two of the children had sustained serious burns, while the man and two other children sustained moderate injuries.
“The patients were treated at the scene by ER24 and GPG before being transported to hospital for further medical care,” said Van Hayssteen.
