As families prepare to enjoy a Christmas meal together, The Animal Guardians (TAG) are planning a festive celebration for the animals in their care.
Keeping up with tradition, the organisation’s management and volunteers will be spoiling the 55 dogs and 74 cats to a special meal on December 25, hoping to add toys and treats to the mix.
“This is a very busy period for us with many animals coming into our care for various reasons, such as neglect and abuse,” said Annie Jungmann, of the organisation.
“As demand for care skyrockets, we are appealing for dry cat and dog food donations to ensure our residents’ tummies stay full.
“To spread festive cheer, we are appealing for animal toys to ensure that each of our furry friends receives a gift from Santa.”
Members of the community can further opt to sponsor an animal for the month.
Donations can be made directly into TAG’s Standard Bank account, account number 10106261256, branch code 051001, using Christmas as reference.
