Wattville Library and recreation put smiles on kids’ faces

Entertainment and fun while learning for four Emandleni creches

The kids did the icebreaker before being taught on how to navigate the library and play games.

The Wattville Library together with the Department of Social Services and other stakeholders visited the Emandleni crèches on March 23.

Four crèches participated in the programme that was held at the Emandleni soccer ground.

Children between the age of three and six from Isihlahla Semfundo Day Care Centre, Esijijini and Juda Crèche, Bongumusa and Tree of Life took part in the campaign that aimed at teaching them about the functioning of a library.

Kids at Emandleni were taught to ride bicycles and scooters by the members of the Watville Library, Sports and Recreation Department.

According to Million Khoza, Emandleni member of the committee, the programme was aimed at teaching children how to navigate their way through the library, finding the books and equipment on offer.

“We want to encourage them to participate in sports and to play, while we watch them smile and enjoy themselves throughout the day.
