Learners shine at prize-giving

Three learners received the school’s highest accolades.

Three learners from Benoni High School raked in awards at the school’s recent prize-giving.

Sarah Glover was awarded the prestigious Dux Learner for 2023 for achieving an average of 84.4%.

Muhammed Laher was the proud recipient of the Cum Laude award.

To be eligible for this award a learner must achieve full academic colours as well as three sets of colours for sport and cultural activities.

Laher achieved colours for academics, Eisteddfod and public speaking as well as cricket throughout the year.

Glover and Laher along with Makagonaishe Rwodzi once again made an appearance on the stage to receive the Quam Optime Prestige Award.

This award is handed to students who have full colours in three or more extra-murals, national colours in a school-related sport or culture or placed in the top three places of the top 10 for three to four consecutive years.

All three met the criteria placing among the top three for five consecutive years.

Principal Dr Eugene Rooyackers congratulated the trio on their remarkable achievements stating that they are shining examples of what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
