Widening of O’Reilly Merry starts
“Although the process may be frustrating the end result will benefit the entire community.”
Motorists making use of O’Reilly Merry and Miles Sharp streets, Rynfield, are urged to make use of alternative routes as construction on these roads kick into gear.
Graders and teams were on site on March 6 clearing the area.
According to Ward 27 councillor Lornette Joseph, the project will see dedicated turning lanes being established on both roads while a traffic light will be erected at Miles Sharp.
“Roadworks will run along O’Reilly Merry from Davidson to Sarel Cilliers streets and on Miles Sharp to Malcolm Street,” she said.
“Road closures are not expected and the scope of work should be completed by the end of June.”
