The Tenshinkan Karate Club achieved five medals during the Gauteng East Championships at Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre on March 9.

The club was represented by three karateka and they won three silver medals, one bronze and single gold.

Dante Lucas was the star performer after grabbing a gold in kumite and bronze in kata. Brandon Wardill won a silver each in kata and kumite while Jeandre Liebenberg returned with a silver in kata.

Instructor shihan Catherine Venter congratulated the students for representing the club with pride and added they are preparing for the Mpumalanga Championships on April 20.
