Officers find hijacked car overturned, abandoned

It is alleged criminals stole the vehicle during a house robbery, where the male victim was held up and shot in the arm.

EMPD officers found a car hijacked during a house robbery overturned and abandoned on Pretoria Road, Petit, on April 19 at about 22:00.

EMPD media spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa said officers followed up on information about a silver Peugeot convertible hijacked on Pretoria Road.

The car was allegedly taken during a house robbery.

“They found the vehicle overturned and abandoned, with no suspects in sight. It is alleged criminals took it during a house robbery, where the male victim was held up and shot in the arm. The suspects then robbed the residence, took the convertible and fled the scene,“ she said.

“All the necessary stakeholders were summoned to the robbery scene, and medical experts attended to the wounded victim. Arrests are imminent.”
