Rynpark celebrates nurses

Carers were celebrated for their dedication to dignified treatment of the elderly.

Rynpark 1 resident, Sybrand de Beer, was also honoured during the event. De Beer became the first appointed male matron in 1974 and held the position for eight years at the former Boksburg Benoni Hospital. He is seen here with clinic sister Lena Koen and Matron Colette Kruger.

Nursing staff and clinic sisters across all seven parks under the Rynpark Retirement Estate’s banner were celebrated for their care and dedication on International Nurses Day, on May 12.

The teams were treated to lunch and each received gifts, as tokens of appreciation.
