Three police vehicles were seen at the crime scene where a 32-year-old man was shot dead in Lindelani informal settlement on June 30.

The body of a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his upper body was discovered in the veld in the Lindelani Informal Settlement just after 19:00 on June 30.

According to Ekurhuleni SAPS spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the police responded to the scene, and when paramedics arrived, they certified the man dead.

“Police enquired at nearby houses about what had happened, but apparently no one knew. A family member later identified the body.”

A case of murder was opened at the Benoni SAPS.
