Daveyton informal traders shut down

The EMPD is closing the net on illegal trading and non-compliance.

Four Daveyton shops were closed on October 2 due to non-compliance in terms of the CoE’s by-laws.

MMC for Planning Development and Real Estate Nomadlozi Nkosi and Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza accompanied the EMPD on a blitz on informal trading and by-law enforcement, throughout the township.

During the raid four undocumented foreign nationals were also arrested.

Nkosi urged informal traders to register their businesses and comply with the city’s by-laws thus exempting them from future operations which may see their business being shut.
