Jaimie’s Riley and Sunny Park Stables Scooby Doo were the winners in a three-way jump-off in the Pony Rider Derby during the Toyota SA Derby at Kyalami Equestrian Park from October 3 to 6. Riley was last to take to the course and after Annabel Nokes, riding her pony Ebb and Flow Blue Ivy, jumped a fast clear, she had no choice but to go faster. She kept the crowd on their toes and when she went through the finish, she recorded the fastest time after beating Nokes by one second to win the title. Scooby, a Nooitgedacht warmblood gelding, is the only pony in the history of SASJ that has won this title three times with three different riders.
