Kate van Jaarsveld was back on the podium after clinching victory at the PPS Alberton 10km and 21km road race at Alberton Rugby Club on November 10. The Nedbank Running Club member cut the tape in 01:26:52 to win the women’s half-marathon, ahead of Jeppe Quondam AC’s Lauren Quinn who clocked 01:29:32. Van Jaarsveld’s Nedbank teammate, Gillian Farquharson, rounded-up the podium with a time of 01:32:52. Benoni Northerns Sports Club’s Jane Nielson finished the women’s grandmasters 10km 54:07, 01:29 behind winner Rita Loots of Rand AC who crossed the line in 52:39.
