You’ve heard about Black Friday but why not support the Red Saturday Big Bleed where the two blood service organisations endeavour to collect 5 000 units of blood, across the country in just one day.
The South African National Blood Services (SANBS) is once again partnering with the Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) to kick-start its summer donation campaign on November 30.
It is hoped that the drive will motivate new eligible donors to actively commit to this life-long practice.
“By donating one unit of blood every 56 days, you are contributing to saving the lives of three individuals in need,” said Michelle Vermeulen, head of marketing and public relations at WCBS.
The mass collection drive will start at 09:00 and continue until 16:00 at Lakeside Mall and Brentwood Park Mall, corner Great North and Stanley roads.
