But do not forget to add the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) to your gift list.
While the festive spirit is cause for joy and celebration for many, others are relying on blood donations to save their lives.
Give the gift of life this festive season by popping in at the SANBS Northmead Donor Centre.
A single donation could potentially save the lives of three individuals.
The donor centre is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays as well as December 16, from 08:00 to 14:00.
Please note that the facility will be closed on December 25 to 26 and January 1.
Eligible donors must weigh over 50kg, be aged between 16 and 75 and lead healthy lifestyles.
