Benoni Indians trio to represent SA in Taiwan
They are of the SA 28-men squad tasked with helping the country qualify for the World Baseball Classic for the first time since 2009.

The Benoni Indians pitchers Damon King and Rowan Ebersohn and outfielder Brandon Bouillon will represent the country during the World Baseball Classic qualifiers in Taiwan from February 21 to 25.
The experienced trio is part of SA’s 28-men squad selected to help the country qualify for next year’s World Baseball Classic tournament to be held in the USA, Japan and Puerto Rico from March 5 to 17.
The Benoni Indians hierarchy congratulated the players and wished the whole team good fortune as they seek to help SA qualify for the tournament for the first time since 2009.

SA last appeared in the competition in 2009 after competing in the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2006. They missed the 2013, 2017 and 2023 editions.
World number two Chinese Taipei, Nicaragua, Spain and SA will compete for two spots at the Taipei Dome while Brazil, Germany, Colombia and China will fight for the two other places in the second qualification round at the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Arizona, USA.
The four teams that will these qualifiers will join the 16 teams already qualified for the tournament, including hosts USA and defending champions, Japan.
