Support these initiatives local initiatives this Mandela Day.

In celebration of Mandela Day (July 18), local organisations will be flexing their muscles in support of charities and the community at large. Get up, get involved and support these initiatives:

Clean Projects
Help by giving the intersection of Pretoria and Snake roads a little TLC.
The community-driven organisation will be painting the curbs of one of the city’s busiest intersections.
Bring a paintbrush, gloves and a small donation for paint and join Alison Etherington and the team from 08:00 to 16:00.

Benoni CPF Youth Desk school shoe initiative
Help keep little feet warm by donating school shoes for primary school learners (up to size 7).
Donations can be delivered until July 17, at the Benoni Police Station’s Social Crime Prevention office with Sergeant Selmina Mosoane or Hair by Kim (Carisbrooke Estate, 153 President Pretorius Road).

The Animal Guardians (TAG)
TAG is endeavouring to collect R67 from each of its supporters for dog and cat food, however donations of soft food, cat litter, blankets and treats are also welcome.
Contributions can be dropped off or delivered at 86 Cloverdene Road, Van Ryn, Benoni SH, or monetary donations can be made to:

Yummy Bean Cafè
The cafè pleads with the community to donate unused reading books, which will be donated to the Maletsatsi Foundation.
The foundation’s aim is to pack 1 800 books for (@archiesarchivessa) this Mandela Day. Yummy Bean Café will be a collection point for these books and then deliver them to the foundation.
Due date for all collections is 15th July.
