Sunny Park Stables riders shine at nationals

The showjumpers represented Gauteng in the competition.

Sunny Park Stables’ Nicola Sime-Riley expressed pride after the stable’s riders delivered outstanding performances at the South African Showjumping Championships at the Shongweni Club in Durban from August 6 to 10.

The riders, including Justin Riet, Warrick Sithole and Brian Manghami, helped the Gauteng team to titles in their events.

“We are proud to boast an incredible roster of talented riders, all of whom delivered outstanding performances in their respective team events,” she said.

In the adult 1m team competition, Sithole, aboard Sunny Park Stables Ultimo, and Justin, riding Sunny Park Stables Dvash, jumped faultless clears in the first round.

With their teammates Lauren and Lexi picking up penalties, the team carried forward four faults after the dropped score. In the jump-off, Team Gauteng delivered under pressure, finishing on a clear round with the fastest overall time, sealing a brilliant result.

In the adult 80cm team, Brian Manghami, riding Sunny Park Stables Pilot, put in two superb clear rounds, helping his team clinch the title.

“Even more remarkable, Brian has only been riding for nine months, making this achievement truly inspiring. Well done to each of you. What a fantastic set of results.”
