Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.

Five Gauteng Traffic Wardens are recovering in hospital after they were shot at during a routine patrol near the Daveyton railway station in the early hours of this morning.
According to Daveyton SAPS spokesperson Constable Ntando Ngomane, the wardens spotted approximately 12 men.
When they stopped and attempted to search the group, it is alleged that one of the suspects fled and began firing at the wardens.
The suspects reportedly used an AK-47 rifle and a pistol.
“Members from the Client Service Centre then received a complaint from one of the members requesting backup. In a swift response, officers arrived at the scene, but the suspects had already fled,” said Ngomane.
