Anyone with details is urged to call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or Detective Warrant Officer Jacques Smook on 082 527 2974.

It has been nearly three years since the murder of well-known veterinarian and farmer, Jessie Coleman, yet there have been no arrests.

Coleman, who owned the Longlife Veterinary Hospital in Rynfield before retiring, was murdered on his farm in Klipspruit Waaikraal, between Delmas and Bronkhorstspruit, in the early hours of September 27, 2022.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, investigations are still ongoing.

“No arrests have been made so far. A case of murder and house robbery is being investigated,” he said.
Authorities were alerted after a member of the Coleman family raised the alarm on a farm watch social media group, warning of a possible attack at the farm.

When the police responded, they found Coleman lying in a pool of blood with his hands and feet tied, the back door of the farmhouse broken open and the house ransacked.

Police believe the criminals gained entry through the damaged door and fled with Coleman’s cellphone.

A night vigil on September 30, 2022, saw a large crowd accompanied by their pets gather at the Longlife Veterinary Hospital to honour Coleman’s life.

Dozens of flowers with messages, candles and ribbons were placed around the trees at the practice to mourn his death.

The police appeal for any information that could help the investigation. Call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or Detective Warrant Officer Jacques Smook on 082 527 2974.
