Kingsway, Daveyton: Note planned power cut tomorrow

Residents are urged to treat all electrical networks as live while work is ongoing.

City of Ekurhuleni has announced that its technicians will conduct essential maintenance at the JP Marais Substation in Kingsway from 10:00 to 20:00 tomorrow (October 23).

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, this will require a shutdown of the power supply during the maintenance period.

The affected areas are Kingsway and Alliance, including Modderbee Prison and the mine in the vicinity.

“While every effort will be made to complete the work within the scheduled timeframe, no guarantee can be given at this stage.

“Work will continue until the maintenance is fully completed to ensure the safety, reliability, and stability of the power supply.

“Residents are urged to treat all electrical networks as live while work is ongoing,” said Dlamini.
