Entries for fourth SEESA Jozi Triathlon open

The entries for the fourth SEESA Jozi Triathlon, scheduled for September 26 at Ebotse Golf and Country Estate and CR Swart Park in Rynfield, opened on January 5.

Early-bird entries will run until March 5, and entrants will get a 20% discount, while entries will close on September 12.


Pieterjan van der Merwe clinched the men’s main race at last year’s event.

“Whether you’re competing solo or as part of a team, choose your distance and get ready for an action-packed day of triathlon,” read a statement from the organisers, Triplus Events.

Last year’s race was won by Pieterjan van der Merwe, who clocked 02:02:18 to clinch the men’s title, while Karla Grobler secured the women’s event in 02:18:19.

The race offers three distances – the super sprint distance, which includes a 200m long swim, 10km cycle and 2km run, the sprint distance (750m swim, 20km cycle and a 5km run) and the standard or Olympic distance, which includes a 1500m swim, 40km cycle and a 10km run.
