The Boksburg Cardinals U15 Ladies wrapped up a strong and consistent season with Gauteng U15 B League title in a mixed competition that included ladies teams and U15 boys’ sides.

The young Cardinals showed good form throughout, picking up solid results against tough opposition.

Among the highlights were a clear 15-6 win over Valhalla Ladies in Benoni, a tight 13-11 victory against the Stars, also in Benoni, and a strong 17-12 performance against the Cardinal Boys in Boksburg.

These wins, combined with steady play week after week, saw the team finish top of the U15 B standings. They dealt well with wet weather delays and the extra challenge of facing more experienced or physically bigger opponents in the mixed league setup.

The league success is a proud moment for the club. Several of the U15 girls were part of the first-ever South African U15 Ladies national squad that played in the Rising Stars Friendly Baseball Series against Uganda earlier this year.

“This has been a rewarding season for the girls. They competed hard every match, improved as a group, and earned the league title through consistent effort. Reaching our first U15 Cup Final caps it off nicely,” said club president Gavin Watkins.

This victory also follows last season’s plate championship win by the senior Cardinals Ladies team, showing the club continues to build depth in the women’s game.
