Eddy House oldies’ products sell like hot cakes

Tasty treats and home-made delights were the stars of the annual market day.

Golden Oldies crooned over speakers at Eddy House old age home on March 28 as residents, friends and family sprawled out on the lawns in support of the facility’s annual market day.

From long forgotten antiques to lovingly created blankets, residents of the Methodist Home, situated on Amphill Road, manned the stalls selling their goods while enjoying a morning spent in the warm autumn sun.

Showcasing his late mother’s extensive thimble and tea spoon collection, Freddie Hauri said that he hopes the younger generation will find interest in the items and that it might inspire them to start similar collections.

Smiling as shoppers gasped and swooned over her hand-made treasure boxes, Marian Thornton said she is happy to see that shoppers still appreciate the art of home-made items.
