Licensing employee dies after fall on stairs

The EMPD is yet to furnish us with the full details of the incident.

A Benoni Licensing Department employee died while at work on October 10 after she allegedly stumbled and fell down a flight of stairs.

The EMPD confirmed the incident to the City Times but was not able to furnish us with the full details by the time of publication.

A member of the public who was in a queue on the first floor of the Benoni Licensing Department that morning, told the City Times that he heard a commotion after the woman fell on the stairs while making her way down from the second floor.

“Everything happened so fast. When people started screaming the security guards told us to leave and then closed the main entrance doors,” said the eyewitness.
