Integrated joint operations under the name Okae Maloa (where is the law?) were once again activated in
Actonville, as well as Boksburg North, on December 8 and saw 305 suspects arrested.
According to Captain Neldah Sekgobela, Ekurhuleni District communication officer, nyaope, Mandrax, liquor, cartoons of counterfeit cigarettes and a roll of copper wire were found during the blitz.
“Officers issued traffic fines to the value of R31 000 to drivers in contravention of the Road Traffic Act,” she added.
Further arrests included:
• 12 suspects arrested on charges of being in possession of drugs.
• 16 illegal immigrants arrested.
• 10 for dealing liquor without a licence.
• Eight illegal liquor outlets were closed.
“Detectives from various district police stations closed the net on 267 wanted suspects, on charges of contact crimes, property-related crimes, serious crimes and gender based violence,” said Sekgobela.
