Learner arrested on first day of school

A Grade 11 learner from a school in Crystal Park was arrested on the first day of school, January 11, for possession of dagga.

Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Lerato Mopeli, said the arrest came after police and EMPD members conducted searches of various schools in their policing precinct.

“Police also conducted a stop-and-search operation where three illegal immigrants were arrested,” said Mopeli.
