Suspected human bone found on a plot in Fairleads
The bone will be sent to a forensic laboratory to be examined.
The Crystal Park police have opened an inquiry docket after a suspected human bone was discovered on a plot in Fairleads on March 7.
According to Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mopeli, the owner said his dog retrieved the bone from the yard.
“The discovery comes after a portion of the property’s boundary fence was demolished for renovating purposes,” said Mopeli.
The police said they are piecing together the possibility that it could be a human bone linked to the discovery in 2020 of a human head in a septic tank on a smallholding near the property.
The bone will be send to a forensic laboratory to be examined.
