The Round Table Golden East 181 has won the prestigious Gauteng Club of the Year Award for the second consecutive year, making it the third time in its history.
For the past year, members dedicated 1 360 man hours to the club’s 21 projects, accounting for 40% of the entire region’s man hours.
Staying true to the organisation’s motto ‘Adopt, Adapt, Improve,’ Golden East members have remained focussed and dedicated to addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the community such as poverty, hunger and illness.
“I am incredibly proud that our club has won this award again,” said outgoing chairperson, Rob Crosbie.
“Over the past year, members have worked tirelessly to bring relief and support to those who need it most. The issues we address are not only critical to the success of the organisation but also to the success of our community.”

Committing to several projects, the Tablers aim to maintain a fine balance, which will benefit all spheres of society, whether it is surprising little ones with Easter treats or ensuring that young girls have access to sanitary packs.
“Being part of this global family is an inspiring journey where members not only have the privilege of making a tangible difference in someone’s life, but through our idea-sharing processes, we grow as men,” said Jonathan Tanner, incoming chairperson.
“We are immensely grateful for this award and believe that upcoming initiatives will be a resounding success.”
