Model inspired to help community

“She enjoys spending time with people and helping those in need in our community.”

Tamboville resident Noluthando Rikhotso (nine) was recently crowned Miss Primary School and scooped second runner-up in the Miss Pre-Teen Regional Gauteng Province pageant.

The Dalpark Learning Academy Junior School learner’s interest in modelling started two years ago after a model taking part in Miss Plus South Africa invited her to a fashion show.

Noluthando Rikhotso started modelling last year.

“She enjoys spending time with people and helping those in need in our community,” said her mom, Lindi.
The aspiring paediatrician began her journey in December. In February, she entered the Miss Pre-teen competition and became one of the finalists.

“That moment melted my heart. I’m so proud of her,” Lindi added.

Noluthando’s fundraising efforts include being part of a community fun walk with the elderly, raising over R1 000 to donate to charity, and donating books and goodies to Tholulwazi Day Care in Wattville.

“Since I started modelling, I’m more confident, and my communication skills have improved. I want to study hard at school and get more awards,” Noluthando said.
