Flying Squad news is brief

Investigation continues in all cases.

Weekend operations conducted by members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS), from July 27 to 30, led to the arrest of eight suspects and the recovery of three vehicles.

Possession of stolen diesel
Acting on information, BFS members arrested two men, aged 32 and 48, on July 27.

The men were arrested at a filling station in Saligna Street, Hughes, Boksburg after they were found to be in possession of three drums of suspected stolen diesel, valued at R10 500.

Possession of drugs
Six suspects were arrested on charges of possession of drugs.

Arrests were made in Elston Avenue, Benoni, Mistry Street, Actonville, Vusi Musi Section, Thembisa and High Road, Brakpan. Cocaine, heroin and Mandrax were recovered.

Vehicles recovered
Three abandoned vehicles were recovered during routine operations,

The vehicles had been reported as hijacked in Thembisa.

A white Volkswagen Polo was found Vusi Musi Section, Thembisa while a silver Polo was recovered in Ivory Park Extension 2.

Further investigations led to the recovery of a white Toyota Quantum in Rabie Ridge.
