Church celebrates 65 years with joyful march through Benoni
Forward in Faith Ministries International was founded in May 1960 by Archbishop Guti in Ngaone, a remote village in Chipinge, eastern Zimbabwe.
Members of the Forward in Faith Ministries International (FIFMI) took to the streets of Benoni CBD recently to celebrate the church’s 65th anniversary with a vibrant march.
The march celebrated the church’s milestone and paid tribute to the enduring legacy of the church’s founder, Archbishop Professor Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti.
Escorted by the EMPD, the march started at the KFC parking lot opposite Lakeside Mall and proceeded to the church venue at 81 Bedford Avenue. Leading the procession was the church’s tambourine ministry, adding a festive rhythm to the occasion.
Guti established Forward in Faith Ministries International in May 1960 in Ngaone, a remote village in Chipinge, eastern Zimbabwe.

Since its humble beginnings, the church has grown into a global Christian movement, now registered in 171 nations and states.
The church boasts over 5 000 full-time pastors and operates Bible schools in several countries, including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
These institutions focus on developing pastors and leaders in Christian leadership and doctrine.
Beyond spiritual outreach, FIFMI has established significant institutions such as the Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Waterfalls, Harare, and the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University in Bindura.

The church also runs several orphanages in Zimbabwe and one in Orange Farm, Gauteng.
Ezekiel TV, its gospel television station, broadcasts 24 hours from its headquarters in Olifantsfontein.
Guti authored over 110 Christian books and was a revered spiritual leader until his passing on July 5, 2023, at the age of 100, at his home in Moreleta Park, Pretoria.
