NOTICE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORIZATION APPLICATION Notice of application for an Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the proposed expansion of a piggery operation on Portion 2 of Farm Rietfontein 504 IR. The notice is hereby given in terms of National Environmental Management Act, 107 of 1998 and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (as amended). PROJECT DESCRIPTION Bluewaxbill Projects Pty (Ltd) (hereafter referred to as *`the Applicant`) has appointed Yodh Engineers as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to undertake the necessary environmental authorisation and associated consultation processes for the expansion of a Piggery operation on Portions 2 of Rietfontein Farm 504 IR, within Dipaliseng Local Municipality under Gert Sibande District Municipality, Mpumalanga Province. The following triggers are identified pertaining to the proposed expansion: `National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) 107 of 1998 Listed Notice 1Activity Number Description Listed Notice 1oActivity 4The development and related operation of facilities or infrastructure for the concentration of animals (for the purposes of commercial production) in densities that exceed- (ii) 8 square meters per small stock unit; and, (ii) b. more than 250 pigs per facility excluding piglets that are not yet weaned. oActivity 67Phased approach activities for all activities. oActivity 39 Expansion and related operations of facilities for the concentration of animals for the purpose of commercial production in densities that will exceed: – (ii) b. 8 square meters per small stock unit, where the expansion constitutes more than 250 pigs, excluding piglets that are not yet weaned. The Draft Basic Assessment Report (DBAR), Background Information Document (BID) and Reply Sheets will be available for comments at Dipaliseng Local Municipality Library, from 21 October 2026 until 19 November 2026. Key Stakeholder and Focused group meetings will be held as per request. An open day will be held on 12th November 2026 at Portions 2, Rietfontein Farm 504 IR for further information dissemination and interaction with the Environmental Assessment practitioner (EAP).
