Your article on August 23 refers,
“Residents are encouraged to log a call with the call centre on 086 054 3000 if they see any electrical boxes that have been tampered with.”
The electrical box on my pavement is falling over and is open.
I have been reporting this to the call centre for months.
I have received numerous reference numbers. The last reference number I received was in July. I followed up again on July 29 and August 22 and I received a new reference number on August 26 as the previous one shows the problem has been attended to.

Editors note:
Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said: “It is regretted that no action was taken when the complaint was reported on various occasions. Corrective measure will be taken to avoid recurrence of these forms of lapse of services.”
He added that after investigation, it was noticed that on March 22 a complaint was logged by the call centre as “No Light”
“Notice is taken of the condition of the electrical box and missing pole cover and the issue will receive our immediate attention,” Gadebe said.
