I recently visited a grocery store in Benoni CBD and I was horrified at the amount of people who were taking this lockdown as a joke.
I do not understand whether they are unaware of the blatant fact that businesses are supposed to be closed and people are supposed to stay at home, or whether they just do not care.
There are several facts and myths regarding Covid-19, but the most alarming one is that the way we can stop this virus from spreading is to follow the orders of the president and to stay at home, unless someone is deemed ‘essential services’.
Other than that, people, please stay at home!

We want our town to go back to the way it was where it was okay to hug the next person or to cough without anyone being afraid to be around you, but we have to work together – by staying apart.
It is a bother when people treat this as a joke.
We are in this together and that means that whatever you do affects the next person.
This is the time to show some humility and consideration towards others, please!
The faster we band together by staying apart, the less leeway we give the virus to affect those we love and those we do not know.
Let us work together by working apart.
