Figure skater prepared for new season
Lejeanne Marias is preparing for the season ahead.

Benoni figure skater Lejeanne Marais recently returned to South Africa from an international figure skating training camp, in Obestdorf, Germany.
The three-week camp was attended by the top ranked skaters and coaches in the world.
According to Marais, the camp was very intensive and involved six to seven training sessions per day, lasting 40 to 90 minutes each.
“I have returned feeling very fit and motivated for the upcoming season, which will start in August,” she said.
“I am busy with preparations for the Olympic qualification competition, which will take place on September 27 and 28, in Germany, and I am ultimately training towards my goal, which is to represent South Africa at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, in February, next year.”
Marais was the winner of the SA National Figure Skating Championships, at Grandwest Ice Arena, in Cape Town, recently.
Before she heads off to the qualifier, Marais will compete in two local competitions: one on August 17 and 18 in Cape Town, and another on August 31 and September 1, at the Festival Mall, in Kempton Park.
