Schaper captains World Cup team
Jayden Schaper placed 11th at the US Kids World Championship, in the u-12 age group. He also captained an international team against the USA.
Just days before St Dunstan’s College’s achievement at the Ernie Els South African Primary Schools Championship, Jayden Schaper placed 11th overall and was the third best international finisher in the individual standings at the US Kids World Championship, in the u-12 age group.
He placed 11th after shooting rounds of 73, 73 and 70.
After the individual championship, the top 10 American finishers, the top 10 international boy players and the top six girls play a World Cup tournament, in the format of the Ryder Cup.
Schaper was chosen to captain the international team in the World Cup event, which was played on August 4, on the Pinehurst number two course, in North Carolina.
This course will host the US Open next year and is ranked in the top 10 best courses in the world.
The Ebotse golfer is one of only 16 international players to qualify to play in this prestigious event.
He now has little over a month to prepare for the South African U-13 Championships, a title that should he win would make him the first player to win it back-to-back.
This tournament will be played at Fish River, in East London.
