Youngsters win gold in Sandton
The u-13A Eastern Gauteng Action Cricket team brought the winners trophy and gold medals back to Ekurhuleni, recently.
The inter-provincial tournament was held at the Sandton Arena, and the u-13A team were undefeated throughout the tournament, winning all eight their games, including a nail-biting final against Central Gauteng, that ended at 95-80.
Coached by Keith Alberts, the team comprises of Benoni and Springs indoor cricket players.
Benjamin Scott received the Bowler of the Tournament award, and six boys from the Eastern Gauteng team were selected for the All Stars Team.
They are Bryce Parsons, Connor Parsons, Ethan Provan, Benjamin Scott, Johan Maritz and Joshua Britz.
Bryce Parsons, Connor Parsons, Johan Maritz and Joshua Britz were also selected to attend trials for the 2015 South African u-16 World Cup squad.
