How the club cricket leagues stand at the break
With the Eastern Cricket Union’s Saturday and Sunday limited over leagues having reached their halfway point due to the festive season break Benoni’s cricket clubs are doing rather well.
Benoni Northerns Cricket Club (BNCC) is leading the elite competition, the Eastern Premier League, six points clear of Boksburg outfit CBC Old Boys in second, while Actonville Spurs Cricket Club go into the break in third place, two points ahead of defending champions Kempton Park in fourth place.
BNCC’s Premier Reserve team leads their league by two points ahead of Kempton, while the club’s unbeaten Directors’ League team is eight points clear of Kempton.
Northerns’ Chairman’s League team sits in third place, four points behind first-placed Cambridge while the Colts League team occupies third place in their league.
The club’s Saturday First League team is in second position behind Kempton Renegades while their Saturday Third League team holds down first in their league.
The Eastern Cricket Union’s leagues will return on Saturday, January 10.
