Firsts demolished, but young guns dominate
Benoni Rugby Club welcomed Nigel to their home grounds, at Hoërskool Hans Moore, on Saturday, June 6.

Nigel again proved that they are the team to beat in the Valke Merlin League and, although Benoni started strongly, their opponents just kept coming at their defence.
A few injuries early on also didn’t help the home side’s cause.
Number eight, Jacques Dorfling, left the field with a shoulder injury, while centre Marius Bezuidenhout also left the game early.
This disrupted the team and they could not recover, losing this one 56-6.
Nigel’s second team were also too strong for Benoni’s reserves – Nigel winning 35-10.
The Benoni u-21 team were the shining light on Saturday.
The young guns kept up their recent solid form and trounced Nigel 90-0, running in 14 tries.
Jeandre Terblanche scored an incredible double hat trick and slotted six conversions, as well.
The team are in a good position to achieve their aim of winning their league.
The club will enjoy a bye this weekend, before meeting East Rand United on June 20.
