Tiny Taskeen takes victrix ludorum sashes
It was a proud moment for Benoni Muslim School and Ostler’s Inn Stable and Equestrian Centre when diminutive equestrienne Taskeen Moosa (7) entered the Brakpan arena to compete in qualifier four of the Sanesa Inter-Schools League competition where she was awarded two victrix ludorum sashes.
Moosa, a Grade two pupil and Rynsoord resident, has consistently placed well throughout the year on her bay pony mare Ostler’s Inn Stables’ “You Sexy Thing”, leading her league level from the start.
The elation that followed Taskeen placing in the final qualifier in the ideal time class to clinch the coveted victrix ludorum was enormous, and it was a pleased young girl who moved over to the second arena to walk the course in the competition class.
Moosa jumped a flawless round in this event too, deservedly winning her second victrix ludorum sash for the day.
Taskeen and You Sexy Thing will now go on to compete at Sanesa’s Newcomer Challenge later in the year.
Not to be outdone, stable mate Kayleigh Fisher and her pony Morning Star also attained victrix ludorum status with strong riding on behalf of Laerskool Kruinsig for her level of the Sanesa League in the competition class.
In the high school series at the Sanesa qualifier it was Kayleigh Stead, a pupil at Benoni High School, who also earned a victrix ludorum sash. She won in the competition class riding Monte Carlo.
These four successful victrix ludorum winners are all coached by Sanef qualified instructor Phillip Roberts of Ostler’s Inn Stables and Equestrian Centre, located in Benoni Agricultural Holdings.
Other Ostler’s Inn Riders who placed at the Sanesa event were Britney Schaper (Benoni High School,) Zodwa Malherbe (Benoni Christian School), Sintiché du Preez (Rynfield Primary School) and Kristen Mustard (Petit High School).
