Benoni’s mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are in for a treat when Fightstar 22 comes to the John Barrable Hall on Saturday, March 11.
Fightstar is a professional and amateur MMA promotion that gives rising stars and top contenders the opportunity to prove their talent to fans and leaders in the industry.
Fightstar is focused on the development of the sport and is heavily involved at grass roots level.
The organisation has helped launch the careers of over 100 athletes and now offers a complete route to international glory.
Match-maker Grant Oliff recently announced a massive main event for the inaugural Benoni event.
Marcel “Madness” Els will square up against Steven “Guts” Goncalves in a featherweight title fight which promises plenty of action right from the word go.
Another exciting development sees the return of Juan “The Legacy” Lubbe to the hexagon.
Lubbe comes out of retirement to face the stand-up fighter Giovanni Pretorius.
Pretorius has been training in Cape Town under the guidance of Tyron Rightford.
With Lubbe also coming from a striking background this promises to be war in the cage.
The action will commence from 7pm and tickets are available at Computicket.
