It was a good weekend for Benoni-based Football Club Benfica (FCB) whose teams were in action in Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA) competitions this past weekend.
The club’s senior team kicked off the weekend with a hard-fought 2-1 quarter-final win against a strong Bonaero Park team.
Their u-13 team enjoyed an emphatic 16-1 win against Alberton Football Club who are really struggling in the league.
There was also convincing league wins for both of FCB’s u-15 teams, winning 11-1 and 2-0 respectively against Sacred Hearts and Warriors.
Their u-17 team also had a winning weekend (5-1) against Bedfordview.
Benfica’s u-19 team, who played away against Wits, comfortably won 3-0 to complete a weekend whitewash of victories for FCB.
