Benoni Country Club’s women win it all
The women were superb in league competitions.
Benoni Country Club’s (BCC) women’s league teams made a clean sweep and won all three of the Ekurhuleni Women’s Golf League sections they competed in during the 2018 season.
They claimed the league trophies for the Tuesday Section One League as well as the Tuesday Section Two and the Sunday Section Two leagues which earned both teams a promotion to Section One.
In the Ekurhuleni Women’s Golf Tuesday Section One League BCC and the Lake Club Benoni finished the season in a tie which resulted in a play-off for the title at Glendower Golf Club on September 25. The BCC women held their nerve and managed to secure the trophy by winning two out of the three matches played on the day.
The league captains Sue Baugh, Susan Andrew and Anne Menday, supported by their strong teams of league players, have set an incredibly high standard to achieve again next year but look forward to the challenge.
