Youngsters have a ball at KFC Mini-Cricket festival
These festivals see youngsters from every corner of their respective provinces coming together to get active through playing cricket.
Over 600 KFC Mini-Cricket players, representing schools from all over Ekurhuleni, converged on Willowmoore Park for the annual Easterns KFC Mini-Cricket Provincial Festival on October 18.
There are more than 120 000 children currently involved in the KFC Mini-Cricket programme across the country and 16 dedicated provincial KFC Mini-Cricket festivals are held annually.
The rules of the game are simple, each youngster gets to bowl six balls and face six balls and every child gets a chance to field in each fielding position.
The format is ideal for introducing them to the game of cricket.
