Benoni Northerns rugby sides enjoy winning start in Merlin League
A positive start for Benoni Northerns rugby sides in their competitions.
Benoni Northerns Rugby Club (BNRC) enjoyed a good start to the Valke Rugby Union’s 2019 Merlin League season against Sasolburg at Northern Areas on April 13.
The club’s three senior teams (u-21s, second XV and first XV) ensured a clean sweep of winning results on the day.
The day started with the u-21s winning 27-18 while the second XV ensured another successful win with a score of 17-7 in favour of the Benoni.
The most positive display came from the Northerns first XV.
They opened their Merlin League campaign with a 50-5 humbling of their visitors.
All the teams will be back in action on April 27 when they welcome the Vaal University of Technology to their home grounds.
Matches start from 1.15pm.
