Congratulations to all the award winners

With another season behind them and summer sporting codes now taking centre stage, Benoni Northerns held their annual hockey awards at the club at the end of September to honour their achievers on the field of play.

Team of the Year: Evolve.

Spirit Trophy of the Year: Chirpettes.

Sportswoman of the Year: Aimee Dixon-Cronje (Chirpettes).

Sportsman of the Year: Cody Vorster (Men’s Firsts and Evolve).

Club Woman of the Year: Kerryn King and Amber Willis (YaYa’s).

Club Man of the Year: Colin Merifield (Men’s Firsts and Evolve).

Most Dedicated Player: Heather Turnbull (YaYa’s).

Most Valued Player: Dale Griffiths (Men’s Firsts and Hangovers).

Captain of the Year: Derek Merifield (Evolve).

Most Promising Junior Boy: Matt Chaplain (Men’s Firsts).

Most Enthusiastic Woman: Michel van Biljon (Eagles).

Most Enthusiastic Man: Dudley Hickman (Kittens).

Most Improved Player Women: Kayleigh Morgan-Evens (YaYa’s).

Most Improved Player Men: Ozzie Teixeira (Mammoths).

Most Promising Player Women: Meeghan Cordier (Fossils).

Most Promising Player Men: Damien Hugo (Colts).

U-21 Player of the Year Women: Abbeygail Cordier (Fossils).

U-21 Player of the Year Men: Kyle du Preez (Men’s Firsts). Most Consistent School Girl: Michelle Slogrove (Harambee Stars).
