Juniors swing into action

Juniors post winning scores at most recent tournament.

After a long delay in hosting junior tournaments, GolfRSA finally gave the go-ahead for unions to host tournaments at their discretion for the duration of August – September.

Gareth Matthysen, an 18-year-old playing out of Reading C.C has been ‘riding the crest of the wave’ during a number of recent junior events.

He held his own once again posting the winning score of 72 gross during a tournament played at Reading C.C. on October 18.

Close on his heals was 14-year-old newcomer to EGU Junior golf, Tylor Phillips, another player from Reading C.C. with a magnificent score of 73.

“Well done to both EGU boys,” said Marlene Haig, Junior Golf coordinator.
